What --- and what NOT-- to request from this list

Remember--- the Mentors on this list are real people with busy lives who are taking time out of their day to offer you support, their expertise or to make a connection for you. We are all in great appreciation of these people and if we respect this space by making the proper requests, the list will go on and on and you’ll receive more support than you could have imagined!

Here are some guidelines to help you get started.

●Keep your requests VERY clear and simple and break it down into questions that someone could answer with an email or phone call OR request a referral to a person or resource that you can work with on a longer term basis.

●Use a direct contact email. The purpose of the list is to connect you to people who can help you with your projects, answer questions and give of their time. We're not helping perpetuate the forwarding of unsolicited emails as that does not serve the purpose of the list or respect the time of those who are giving to each of you who request. Your request will not go through our system if it's sent to an auto-responder email address.

●All questions should be specifically related to BUSINESS or how you can be better in business. 

●Click the “suggestions” link in the category section to get a more detailed listing of the types of questions to ask.

●Remember your question will go out to thousands of well meaning individuals. Anticipate receiving many email replies. You’re responsible for verifying the authenticity of any resource or advice you choose to accept.

●Pay it forward always --- please let us know if this list has helped you and please try to respond to the inquiries of others.

●The list owners do NOT edit the requests--- only delete (with no notice) those that are found to be inappropriate.

What NOT to ask for

●Don’t even think about posting anything pornographic, vulgar, or illegal to the list.

●This list will not be used to build any network marketing downline.

●It is illegal to make DIRECT requests for investors or investment capital to a public list unless you have a registered Public Offering. Unverified requests for money will be deleted.

It would be more appropriate to ask for guidance on how to find investors, Angel Investor resources, or how to put together an offering for investors. Also, don’t forget that before you need the money, you’ll need business planning, a good team and legal support.

●Please do not make requests for personal donations, household items, housing, jobs or anything not related starting or running a business.

●Rambling, unclear, non-specific requests may not receive any replies and you’ll be disappointed. You have one shot so take a moment to form intelligent and clear requests. If you’re feeling stuck, you can say “I’m feeling stuck about what to do next in my business”
